Jumbo Hampers

Applied fashionable patterns to large soft fabric hampers. These have been sold to accounts such as Sam’s Club, and Ross.

The process.

Vector patterns are chosen based on trends from buyers. I created CADs to visually show how the patterns will potentially look on the hamper. Pantone colors are chosen to go on white or natural colored canvas. Handle and binding colors are chosen to compliment the pattern.

Print ready files of each pattern are sized, colored, and sent to the factory to apply to the fabric. Specs are created to inform the factory exact measurements, materials, and colors to construct each item.

Hangtag packaging was used for these hampers . I chose a neutral light gray color with wood grain for the background, this would compliment any color hamper.

Previous orders of production used a new collection of patterns. A problem we came across was that we originally designed each hangtag to matched the pattern on the hamper. We found that the printer couldn’t always match the colors to the fabric pattern colors. This also was an additional cost to use so many different spot colors. This is why we switched to the gray wood grain hangtag above. It could be printed in CMYK and used for all hamper patterns. This was a cost effective solution.
